Let’s RAWK!
I’ve just finished listening to “D:Evolution” - the latest EP from the Little Monkeys. And it’s fab.
How did I come across this little gem? Well, I’ve had the pleasure, nay, privilege, to play in a band with both the guitarist (the magnificently-maned Clive Murray) and lead vocalist Jon Ewen - who is a fantastic drummer, to boot.
To my ears, it’s reminiscent of all things good with 1980’s rock music - crunchy rhythm guitars, tasteful solos (not to mention some nice harmony lines), solid bass, quality vocals… I’m thinking along the lines of Kotzen-era Poison, Extreme, Motley Crue et al.
And to top it all, they’ve just had a gig supporting the LA Guns at the Camden Underworld. I’m still kicking myself for not being able to be there.
Go buy the CD - it’s the next best thing.
