Flying in the ATC
Ever wished you could fly?
With the ATC you will find yourself behind the controls of an aircraft; normally within a year of joining (subject to various factors, which we won't bore you with now).
And it's not just a joyride, either - you'll fly as a pilot under instruction. This means that you'll actually take control of the aircraft. Yes, that's right - you'll be flying it; even performing aerobatics like barrel rolls, stall turns and loops!
If you've got the aptitude and committment, you may also find yourself working towards your Private Pilots Licence through the various flying scholarships and courses on offer. Competition for these is fierce, so you've got to be something special!
As well as the Air Experience Flights and Gliding courses, you may also get the opportunity to fly in other military aircraft. This normally takes place as part of your Annual Camp, but you may equally get the chance during an air show, or as a prize for best cadet.
Whichever way you look at it, the sky's the limit!
