05/10/2004 Entry: "What a weekend!"

Things started nicely with an evening of beer, banter & beans with the boys from UKMG...

Next morning I received a phone call from my estate agents letting me know they were arranging another viewing... Thirty minutes later & I'd accepted an offer! From a cash buyer!! Who wants the furniture!!!

As you can probably tell, this put me in a *very good mood* before I went off to Ultralase in Chelmsford. Yes, after some 18 years of wearing specs, I decided to take the plunge & see whether I was suitable for laser surgery. It turns out that I am and they're confident that I can achieve at least one degree better than 20/20 (I'm currently two degrees better with the specs). More on this after Friday 21st when I go under the surgeon's laser.

And what better way to round off the day than with a meal at the fine Peking Garden in Epping? Indeed, we thought, but not just yet...

Jo & I had been casing other joints... er, I mean viewing other houses with a view to moving shortly. Turon @ Kings & Partners has been extremely patient with us as we went through around a dozen houses; ticking some boxes but not all. Then, the other day, he suggests that we look at "just one more that would be perfect"...

And whaddya know? It was! So we've entered an offer and I'm (as I type) waiting on a call from Kings to let us know if it's been accepted.

Type entirely with fingers' crossed. Damned impressive, if I say so myself.
